SpringerOpen: open access journals

Recently I found that the EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing changed from Hindawi (which still has the journal in their website) to SpringerOpen.

The change has two important consequences:

  1. The journal is now indexed in the Thomson’s JCR, with impact factor 1.01.
  2. The access to all the papers published in the journal is free for everybody.

In my honest opinion, it is a good way to share knowledge, because subscription to specialised journals can not be affordable for every researcher (specially for freelance ones or small research centres).

Here you are a link to the most viewed published papers (most of them related to the Special issue on Object Tracking and Monitoring Using Advanced Signal Processing Techniques, in which I published my own paper about vehicle tracking).
